While speaking to the press, the Lagos state Honorable commissioner for ministry of energy and Mineral resources, Hon. Biodun Ogunleye noted that the beauty of Nigeria’s natural resources is that the country has them in good quantity “but we are currently not utilizing them as much as we can”. He further expressed that Lagos is a good place for gas investment, gas utilization, by way of gas to power projects, CNG, new CNG, distribution assets, and energy mix.

While explaining that the energy mix is growing astronomically in favor of gas, he expressed that the government is elated at the experience. For investors, Hon. Biodun pointed to loads of opportunities available in the sector from gas harvesting, to gas utilization, to gas transportation, to support services. “A lot of those opportunities are there for people to make the best of”, he added while encouraging investors to work with the right and legal regulatory agencies to ensure the best possible experiences.

Meanwhile, the Vice President of Strategy & Corporate Affairs at Greenville LNG in Nigeria Uzodinma Ezimora expressed that strengthening the regulatory agencies in Nigeria to make sure that they are really able to carry out their mandates in areas like gas pricing, for example. is always going to be welcomed. Hence, he called out on the government to reinforce the regulatory agencies of the gas industry to give investors comfort and confidence which will by extension, improve their investment decisions in Nigeria, and create more visibility on the path forward for those investments.

Vice President, operations and marketing, Greenville LNG, Vineet Davis, identified the essence of the forum stating that it is of immense benefit because the forum addresses “how we can tie off with the various gas suppliers, and also how we can see the extension of pipelines, tapping up gas from the pipelines, as well as from the gas processing plants to facilitate our expansion projects” he said.

Vineet further added that Nigeria has a potential of 250 data, SFD of gas, DSFD, and Nigeria can explore the possibility of getting greater revenues and making the country or Africa as a gas hub for exporting even to the masses. “Nigeria can stand out. and be a source of LNG as well as for gas. And then it can bring a global revolution because Nigeria has the reserves and that reserves needs to be taken out. and put into a commercial and efficient place of utilization.” he added.
